You may have noticed that we have quite a few items from the Gatchaman series in our shop. But what is Science Ninja Team Gatchaman ? Well. it’s a Japanese franchise created by Yoshida Tatsuo in 1970’s. In the English speaking countries the series was first aired in 1978 as Battle of the Planets, unfortunately a lot was changed so it was nowhere near as good as the original.
A lot was happening since the 70’s and since then we had multiple anime series, feature film, DVDs, and lots of merchandise including Gatchaman action figures etc. Some of the coolest nostalgia would most likely be the vinyl records.
Science Ninja Team Gatchaman Characters
Ken the Eagle (Ken Washio) The leader of the Science Ninja Team and pilot.
Joe the Condor (Joe Asakura). Joe is an Italian of Japanese descent. He is a race driver and 2nd in command of the Science Ninja Team.
Ryu the Owl (Ryu Nakanishi) the main pilot of the God Phoenic spaceship.
Jun the Swan – she is an
American of Japanese descent. She rides motorbike and was raised in orphanage.
Jinpei the Swallow – just like Jun, Jinpei is an orphant. They both were raised in the same orphanage. We don’t know what his last name is.
Science Ninja Team Gatchaman – Plot
The plot of the series revolves around our 5 hereos who form the Science Ninja team Gatchaman. They are emplyed by Mr Kōzaburō Nambu of the International Science Organization. As with all good series, our heros figh the Galactor who are the baddies trying to control Earth’s natural resources. Of course we can’t let that happen and our heros embark on multiple missions to stop these villains.
